The Embrace Project
The embrace Project, collaborates with the musicians from all kinds of genre, has started with this motto; Music Embraces Everything.
Every genre of music has its own texture, sound, and timbre. The ultimate purpose of this project is providing ‘The Places’ where those different type of musicians can communicate with each other thorough their own musical languages.
As if two people get to know each other by having a deep conversation, the musicians will understand each other sharing their music. Like every conversation, there would be no planned conclusion in this musical dialogues. However, this impromptu and honest conversation would enable the audience to realize the true value of music in this generation of pluralism. Moreover, they will make you enjoy the great coexistence of genre which never existed before.
The Embrace Project는, 다양한 장르의 뮤지션들이 함께 완성해 나가는 콜라보레이션 프로젝트로써, ‘Music Embraces Everything’ 즉, 음악은 모든 것을 감싸 안는다’를 모토로 시작 되었다.
모든 장르의 음악은 그 자신만의 고유 음형과 음향, 그리고 음색을 가지고 있다. 이 프로젝트의 궁극적인 목적은, 그러한 고유의 스타일을 가진 뮤지션들에게 서로 대화를 나눌 ‘장’을 만들어 주는 것이다.
서로 다른 성격을 가진 사람들이 만나 대화를 하며 서로를 이해해 나가듯, 준비 된 ‘장’안에서 뮤지션들은 음악적 대화를 나누며 서로를 이해해 나갈 것이다. 모든 대화가 그렇듯, 이 대화에는 정해진 결말은 없다. 자신을 온전히 드러내는 뮤지션들의 즉흥적이고 솔직한 대화에 참관함으로써, 청중들은 현대 시대의 음악이 갖는 진정한 가치를 깨닫고, 이전 시대에서는 누리지 못했던 다양한 음악의 공존이라는 특권을 누리게 될 것이다.

Where is the boundry of 'Music'? What is the eligible sound for musical elements?
If the normal 'Noise sounds' have the directional movement, can we call as music? or still noise sound?
음악의 경계란 어디까지일까? 음악적 '재료'로써 적합한 소리란 어떤것인가?
일반적으로 '소음'이라 일컬어지는 다양한 소리를 즉흥적으로 채워낸 작품으로, 주제는 '음악시간', 도는 우리들의 '악기연습시간'이다. 종이 친 후, 우리들은 각자 악기 연습을 시작한다. 일상에서 흔히 찾을 수 있는 소재들을 이용한 소음들과 함께, 하나의 간단한 멜로디를 모두 다른 스타일로 즉흥적으로 연주함으로써, 이들은 하나의 거대한 소리덩어리를 만들어 낸다. 그 흔한 음악 이론도, 법칙도 통하지 않는 이 덩어리가 어떠한 장치로써 방향성을 갖게 되었을 때, 이것은 음악인가? 아니면 여전히 소음일까?

Experimental Improvisation project directed by new music composer Jaehyun Hong
This performance is derived from the 90s Japanese movie 'Lost Paradise'. Each players improvise their parts, but the entire musical form follows the original movie's narrative.
영화 '실낙원'의 내용을 내러티브로 둔 즉흥곡이다. 위험한 사랑의 정착지를 찾아 둘만의 낙원으로 떠나는 중년 커플에 대한 이야기로, 즉흥 연주는 이들이 여행을 떠나는 첫 걸음으로부터 시작된다. 한걸음 한걸음 눈밭을 걸어가며, 이들은 지금껏 자신들이 겪어온 사랑의 발자취를 추억한다. 그 안엔 너무도 많은 이들에게 상처를 준 자신들의 이기심과 더불어 그럼에도 불구하고 사랑스럽고 아름다웠던 추억이 존재하고 있다. 이 연주는 이러한 감정적 대비를 재료로 하고 있으며, 계획되어진 내러티브 안에서 각 연주자들은 자신의 방식으로 즉흥적인 음악적 표현을 만들어 낼 것이다.
